Each group was informed last semester that the school would hold a film festival in the following semester, and that the film festival would be presented by the middle of the semester. The students finished script writing, casting, and film rehearsals during the four weeks long preparation time. Finally, with the efforts of the groups, they each finished a wonderful film with the reasonable use of after-school and lunch time.
The annual film festival was finally held with anticipation from the teachers and students. Same as last year, the students were divided into six different groups, and they designed their own scripts, filmed them, and presented the films to the teachers and students in the form of videos. The difference was that the theme of the film was given by the teacher, and each group chose one of the themes of science fiction, comedy, thriller, action, romance, and drama as the theme of the film and started shooting around it.

Team Narwhale chose science fiction as the theme of their film. The technology-rich images made people wonder whether it was insanity or an intelligent system manipulating the puppets behind the scenes. Comedy was the theme for the Snowy Owl team. The actors were witty and humorous with the help of the script, through the props and plot. Next came comical Charlotte, who was playing around a judge as if in front of the students’ eyes. The Black Widow students specially borrowed some professional shooting equipment; they brought professional equipment to make an awesome movie. Students from Polar Bear shot the movie “Infernal Affairs” with wonderful action details. The main character turned danger into success and crossed many obstacles to complete the task. The romantic themed movie “I am your ear” was made by the Lynx team. From the title of the movie, we can’t get a lot of important information, but this movie title gives students infinite reverie. With members of the Beluga group in the background of the basketball game, the heroine overcame the difficulties and scored the key ball, winning the applause and cheers in exchange for their efforts, begging the audience to ask the question “Who dares to say a woman is worse than a man”?
All members actively participated in writing, editing, and giving comments on the film scripts, which made each film the result of the panel members’ joint discussion and active cooperation, and made the festival wonderful. Looking forward to watching all of these awesome movies!
