Shocked! An unknown secret lies behind selfless contribution.
It turns out that you are my closest love, although you are the farthest.
In the chilly November, G10 students in the CLE class had a unique assignment: Pay It Forward. Since the students are still curious about the BCOS program, they immediately launched into active discussions and made a plan.
It was a warm project, inspired by the movie called “Pay it Forward.” This project mainly encourages people to help others or serve the community in their own way. Then, the person who is helped continues to pass the love they received in another way. For many times, you feel that you are helping others. Actually, you are also helping yourself. You will benefit from those warm behaviors unconsciously.
However, how should we start this project? In fact, the most expensive and imposing action may not bring people the most warmth. Conversely, a small action in the daily life can leave people an unexpected emotion. For instance, saying thank you to the driver in the morning, giving a big smile to the environmental sanitation workers around us, and greeting our teachers. All these actions can make their whole way. Therefore, we should start to warm people around firstly, spreading the love and warmth within.
All students devoted themselves fully in this love spreading activity. Among all students, Zhang Jun, a G10 student, chose to send breakfast to the sanitation workers, because he realized their hardship and sacrifice for this job by starting work in very early morning. As a result, he decided to offer them a hearty breakfast. He had prepared all the food the night before, and brought it, walking along the road at four or five in the morning to hand it to those workers by himself. “Helping others is something you will find difficult initially,” Zhang said. “You will feel extremely joyful, after achieving it.”
We always think the world is unwelcome and unsatisfactory, but this activity allows us to discover the beauty in the daily life, so that we can cherish the people around us with more happiness and treasure. A drop of love brings together to form the sea. This December is full of love, because of you and me.
