In March, spring is gradually coming, and the senior students of Jiaxing Senior High School are also struggling and striving in the hopeful spring breeze, and their colorful dreams are slowly blossoming The time they spend studying is golden, but behind the scenes they must also be under a lot of pressure and anxiety, so Christina from BCOS chose “Free Hugs” as the assignment for their charity activity. She wanted to give everyone encouragement and warmth, even if it was just from a hug and a small note.
One sunny noon, she put on a cute bear doll outfit, walked out of the school’s gate and stood on the playground near the G12 building, waiting for the students to join the activity. At the beginning of the event, some students were overwhelmed and a little nervous, but Christina opened her arms to them and offered to walk up to them so they wouldn’t have to be timid. Then the crowd gradually increased and the students relaxed and ran to the cute bear with smiles on their faces. Every student who participated in the event had a relaxed and comfortable smile when they received a little note of encouragement after the hug. The bear she played was like a sun, and the students looked like they were standing on their tiptoes to embrace the sun, embrace the warmth, and cheer themselves up for their efforts to move forward.
After the event, the journalist department also interviewed Christina. When asked what impressed her, she said that during the event, one of the students gave her a candy while hugging as well, which made her very touched. She said, “In this event I was supposed to be coming to spread warmth and hug them, but that candy from her also warmed me, and such person-to-person care touched me.” This is a two-way run of kindness, each of us is as tiny as a star, but just like this student, each tiny star is also releasing its own light before interweaving into a brilliant river of stars and a world full of love.
The charity event was a great success, as shown by the sincere smiles of the seniors. Also, Jiaxing BC’s students not only learned to give and care for others, but also understood the warmth between people in this world.
