April already came and it is the end of the spring. All the students in Jiaxing BCOS are studying hard to catch the tail of the third term and promote their grade at the last moment. At such a busy moment, we still can find the heart-warming students who are in senior grade are helping grade 10 students. Without much doubt, those helpers are the members of Vocabulary Club.

The vocabulary club was founded in March and working under the faith of studying in teaching. In this club, grade 11 and grade 12 students voluntarily help the students whoever needs help in a lower grade. The club supervisor, Ms. Ng, is both the Social Studies 10 & 11 as well as the English 10, 11, and Communications 12 teacher. In the process of teaching, she found that the students in higher grades possess a higher understanding ability and studying techniques which are the areas in which the grade 10’s are lacking .

For grade 11s and grade 12’s, they can go over the knowledge that they learned in the past and clarify their own way of thinking. While they are helping, routined memorization sets  those skills deeply. The vocabulary Club contributed to the understanding among students and promoted the spirit of unity, cooperation and mutual benefit in teaching.

In the Vocabulary Club, the grade 10 students can not only learn new words, but they can also accept guidance from the grade 11’s and grade 12’s which is the greatest point. Especially when the grade 10 are facing essay writing, a tough task for beginners. However, the experience from others can help them find direction. After the volunteers’ careful correction, the structure and the usage of vocabulary has been much improved.
