With the COVID-19 situation becoming better, the BCOS students finally had their long-awaited spring trip in early summer. On May 5, 2023, at 7:15 a.m., all the students and teachers of BCOS of Jiaxing Senior High School went on a journey to Hangzhou Changqiao Polar Ocean Park. During the journey to Ocean World, the unique charm of marine life impressed everyone and the students appreciated the preciousness of the marine world in the background introduction to the park.

Almost all of the students went into the first show and sat on the bleachers waiting impatiently for the baby walrus to appear. The show was really participatory, with professional hosts and bouncing clowns inviting the audiences to interact with them, and two students were lucky enough to be drawn to participate in the show. Before the walrus came out, the clowns invited Martin to dance, and the cheerful music and dance received a lot of cheers and applause from the stage. Joan turned around and the host joked, “Maybe he needs your encouragement, you should praise him. “Surprisingly, the walrus really started to do it after hearing the compliment, and the audience couldn’t help but cheer for him, and the show ended with the walrus saying goodbye to the audience.

Legend says that “those who see a beluga whale will be lucky for a whole year.” Halfway through the journey, the students watched a beautiful and romantic “love between human and whale”, in which the white bodies were weaving and spinning in the blue water with beautiful music, kissing and dancing with the keepers, as if they were really one. The beluga whales looked noble and innocent, and the students were deeply attracted by this fairyland-like scene. As the show started, the audience had mixed feelings. They were shocked by the beauty of the beluga whales but saddened by their slow disappearance in the wild. After the spring tour, the press section interviewed some students. Cindy, a senior, had a lot of insights and said, “In the marine park, I watched a lot of wonderful performances and exhibitions of marine creatures, and their charm is unique, but after the staff’s introduction of some of their current living conditions, I decided to contribute to the protection of marine creatures and reduce the extinction of marine life.”

After this spring trip, we became more aware of the preciousness of the ocean and its creatures. The ocean is closely related to the origin of life, and the evolution of living things cannot be separated from the ocean, so many students started to promote the knowledge of how to protect our ocean friends and reduce the ocean garbage to the people around them. May all marine animals live in a purer ocean, a healthier ocean.
